The Quiet Architecture of Light.
Designing atmosphere through light.
Award-winning architectural lighting design for luxury residential, historic renovation, and hospitality spaces across Texas and beyond. We believe light is the first thing you feel in a room and the last thing you remember.
We treat light as part of the architecture, not an afterthought.
At Martin Sunday Lighting Design, we approach lighting as both an art and a science. Light defines how tall a ceiling feels, brings out the texture of plaster, stone, and wood, and supports the natural rhythm of the day.
As trusted lighting designers, we collaborate closely with homeowners, architects, builders, and interior designers to create layered lighting plans that are visually striking, technically sound, and thoughtfully executed from concept to completion.
Our mission is to illuminate lives through the intentional and artistic use of light.
At Martin Sunday Lighting Design, we design lighting that elevates everyday environments into extraordinary experiences while remaining mindful of budget, energy efficiency, and long-term performance. We aim to make professional lighting design an attainable luxury, delivering solutions that enhance beauty, improve functionality, and stand the test of time.
Our 12 Principles
Our work is guided by a set of principles that define how we design, collaborate, and deliver exceptional results. Each one informs every custom lighting design we create.
Artistry - Through the artistry of light, we compose environments that breathe - where shadow, contrast, and illumination work in harmony to create something truly felt.
Quality - Quality is the cornerstone of our corporate values. We are committed to delivering exceptional lighting design solutions that reflect our expertise, innovation, and a dedication to customer satisfaction.
Excellence - We work to create an equal, safe, and productive work environment. We practice the 1% rule: give 1% more than the day before, focusing on long-term results.
Service - We are committed to serving and supporting our community. We do this by participating in fundraising events, recycling, and volunteering.
Coaching - We work to develop skill sets within our team members by recognizing talent and modeling good communication practices. Our goal is to unlock each person’s potential through learning experiences that maximize individual performance.
Creativity - We strive for a creative environment by creating an emotionally intelligent workplace. We believe that being fearless promotes the flow of positive energy for creativity, connection, and trust.
Trust - We foster an environment built on honesty. By empowering our team members to be leaders within their own projects by utilizing trust, communication, and an open-door policy.
Integrity - We demonstrate integrity by keeping our words and actions congruent. We do this by focusing on meeting deadlines and staying in close communication with our team members and clients.
Positivity - Great teamwork is built on positivity and optimism. We promote a culture that values commitment, care, and connection between all our team members.
Grace - Grace in leadership is helping others succeed while conveying confidence. Through grace we experience connection and clarity within our projects.
Accountability - We are responsible for our decisions and our performance. As accountable individuals, we perform to expectations and deliver on our commitments.
